Classic vintage 1980s 9 West OTK boots make a rare appearance

These vintage late 1980s OTK boots by 9 West sold for $59.99.  These boots were a size 9 and made in Brazil.  The seller stated this style was called "Starlight."

These boots measure 25" high with a very walkable 3" heel.  These have some nice slouch to them and I've also seen them worn cuffed.  These appear to be in exceptional condition, especially for boots that are around 30 years old.  The seller even posted a photo of their original box.  Also, kudos to the seller for nice modeling to show how they look with both solid and patterned tights.

I originally saw these boots listed in a Macy's California ad around 1985, I think.  It seems like the original price was $200.

Someone got a very well-made pair of boots in a timeless style that will go great with everything from leggings to skinny jeans to skirts.  Considering the rare style, condition and large size, I'm a little disappointed that these didn't sell for more.

Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" boots sell for $125!

Even with pricey $23 shipping, someone got a good deal on these worn Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" black leather thigh-high boots for $125.  These were also a nice large size 40 / US 9.5M.

I originally thought the high shipping had to do with the fact that these came with their original blue Stuart Weitzman box.  However, the listing stated that the box was not included.  Sorry, but I think picturing the box in the listing is misleading if you then state it's not included.  Also, why the $23 shipping then?

Although these boots had some wear, they're about $75 cheaper than I've seen most pairs of this style sell for lately.  For $149, a great way to get into a pair of some of my all-time favorite boots!

However, I am curious why in this first photo does one boot look several inches taller than the other?!

Nicely modeled vintage Dolce and Gabbana boots sell for an impressive $399

Even in a small size 36.5 (US 6.5), these tall black Italian leather boots by Dolce and Gabbana sold for a very impressive $399.  Especially impressive as these were the knee-high version of these boots and not the OTK version.

This style rarely appears on eBay, but when it does, always seems to garner some interest.  I've always liked these boots, especially the super sexy pointed toes and stiletto heels.

Although the seller indicated these came with the original box and dust bags, she didn't post photos.  For as many times as I've seen these boots appear on eBay, I've never seen them with the original box and dust bags.

Finally, they're very nicely modeled with the print dress, both sitting and standing.  A great work or holiday party look!  And a special kudos to the seller for posting the maximum 12 photos allowed on eBay - a nice assortment of modeled and unmodeled photos.

Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" boots with original box sell for less than $130.

Someone got a very good deal on these size 7 Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" over-the-knee boots with their original box.  The auction started with a Buy It Now price of $150 and when the boots didn't sell, the seller lowered the BIN price to $130.  However, someone snagged these for a Best Offer, which meant they sold for less than $130.  I'm guessing the seller let them go for $100.  Even with pricey $17.80 shipping, this was a really good deal on these boots in a smaller size.  These boots did appear to have some scuffs and more wear on the soles than most boots in this style listed on eBay recently.

eBay Saved Searches and Buy It Now or "The Early Bird Truly Does Get The Worm!"

I've been a fan of eBay's "Saved Searches" for years.  You can save search criteria for your favorite items and have the items which meet that criteria e-mailed to you on a daily basis. eBay recently changed this feature to "follow" searches and sellers.  This allows you to receive e-mail alerts when new items are posted which meet your criteria.  However, it also creates a "feed" which now appears on the eBay front page if you are currently signed in which shows big photos of the items you're following.  If I'm using a shared computer or checking eBay at work, I don't necessarily want others to know what items I'm following.  At least the e-mails allowed for some privacy when it comes to saved searches.

For years now, part of my morning routine is to check my inbox for what has come through overnight.  My eBay "saved search" e-mails tend to come through around 1am-2am, so unless I'm up fairly late, I don't see them until morning. However, I've managed to snag a few good deals when these items appear with a Buy It Now option.

Regular readers of this blog will know that the Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" OTK riding boots have been some of my favorites for a few years now.  They're, without a doubt, some of the most comfortable boots I've ever tried on.  And while I would never pay the original $650 retail, several pairs sold during the holiday season for anywhere from $200 to more than $400.  However, I rarely see pairs in my size (9.5).  Since the boots haven't been made for a few years, they're still highly sought after on eBay, especially when a pair shows up in a popular size at a great price.

So when I opened my eBay "saved search" e-mails this morning, I was excited to see a pair listed with a starting bid of $50.00 and a low Buy It Now price of $250.00 (with reasonable $10.40 shipping).

I can't say that I was surprised that when I went to the auction page, they'd already been snapped up using Buy It Now.  When I looked at the size and saw it was a 9.5, my jaw dropped.  When I saw that the seller said they'd literally been worn once, I was even more disappointed.  Plus, they came in that beautiful blue Stuart Weitzman box!  The seller said she'd bought them at Saks Fifth Avenue for $588.00.

Some very lucky person caught this auction early and snapped up an amazing pair of boots, in my size, with the original box for $260.40!  To say I'm envious would be an understatement!

A great deal on Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" OTK boots

These gently used Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" black leather over-the-knee boots in a size 6.5 were snapped up for their Buy It Now price of $149.99.  The seller indicated that they were only worn a few times. And the deal even included the original box!

Without a doubt, one of the best deals I've ever seen for these beautiful boots!  Oh, if these had only been in my size!

A deal on sexy Via Spiga classic black leather dress boots

Someone got a deal on these gently worn Via Spiga "Mimosa" boots for $30, even with pricey $16 shipping for the original box.

These size 9.5 black leather dress boots are one of my favorite knee-high styles.  When I priced them at the Nordstrom Rack store last season, they were still $200, so someone got a really good deal on these classic-styled boots.  I especially like the nicely pointed toes and very sexy spiked heels.
