This dressy vintage black leather jacket by Vakko sold for $50 plus pricey $21 shipping.
This size M leather jacket is a rare style I haven't seen before. It's styled like a double-breasted blazer, but with a partial zipper closing instead of buttons and a belt. I also like the long notched pointed collar. The jacket also features gold buttons on the sleeves and pockets which make it look even richer. And is usual for Vakko items, the leather looks buttery soft!
This would look great paired with a turtleneck, black skinny jeans and riding boots.
Catsuits and long gloves, thigh boots and trenchcoats...these are a few of my favorite things!

More nice vintage leather pieces
Seller "newlookvintage" is back with some great, unusual leather pieces, most of which have sold for impressive prices.
This vintage 1970s brown leather cape / cloak sold for an impressive $255.00. The draping on this is gorgeous and the seller indicated the leather was buttery soft and in pristine condition. There is a lot of leather in this piece! This would have been very tempting in classic black! This would look stunning paired with a beret and long leather gloves.
Someone got a deal on this very nice red leather pantsuit, which surprisingly sold for only $56.00. I especially like the high collar and belted detail, which definitely gives it a military feel. Red leather is sexy, but hard to pull off in this volume, at least here in the States. I can see looking chic in this walking the streets of Florence or Paris. Again, this would have been very tempting in classic black.
In contrast, she sold this gorgeous vintage 1980s red leather blazer-style jacket in a size 8 by Vakko for $122.50. Definitely more versatile and timeless than the red leather piece above, and the leather looks buttery soft. The cut on this is stunning and I especially like the notched, pointed collar. This piece is very structured and would look great paired with a turtleneck, skinny jeans, and riding boots.
Speaking of structured, this vintage 1980s leather peplum jacket by Marc Laurent Paris sold for $71.25. I really like the exaggerated collar on this piece as well as the padded shoulders and the super-tailored waist. However, I do think this look is hard to pull off unless you are tall and super thin. Another piece that would look great with a turtleneck, skinny jeans, and riding boots.

I discover Poshmark.com, and some nice leather finds!
Although this site will primarily be devoted to interesting leather sales on eBay, I do have to give Poshmark a mention as I just discovered it yesterday. Poshmark is another selling site geared exclusively mainly towards women's clothing. They promote it as "shop the closets of women across America - and sell yours, too." It reminds me a little of Etsy, but with more features.
It seems easier than selling on eBay, although I notice a lot of haggling going on, as in "would you take $... for this?" and it's usually a lot less than the listed price. I'm not a fan of that, which is probably why I've never used eBay's "Best Offer" feature. For example, this very nice Vakko black leather pencil skirt was listed for $100 (overpriced, I admit) and the seller dropped it to $25 on request. However, it still hasn't sold!
Also, Poshmark's fee structure is definitely simpler than eBay, although a hefty 20 percent. It also looks like they encourage modeling, which might be a drawback for more self-conscious sellers. However, it looks like some sellers really get into the modeling, which is a definite plus for us buyers! You even have to post a photo to sign up...hmmm.
Fortunately, the site has a decent search function, so of course, I was curious if there were any leather deals to be found. Also, hard-to-find items are sometimes more available on lesser-known sites.
Take this very nicely-modeled vintage black leather jumpsuit, which even in a size 2, sold for $85, down from the seller's original listing price of $300. The jumpsuit was apparently popular as another buyer reposted the photo asking where she could get something like that. Of course, the seller responded, eBay!!!
There were also these size 9.5 Stuart Weitzman "Hilo" OTK boots in a rare dark brown. Someone got a real deal on these for $65! And if this photo is any indication, there are lots of "selfies" on Poshmark!
So while eBay is still my preferred leather retailer of choice, it's nice to know there are options such as Poshmark and Etsy, especially for those harder-to-find leather items!

Vintage Vakko military-style black leather jacket
This gorgeous military style belted black leather jacket by Vakko sold for its Buy It Now price of $99.99 even with pricey $25.00 shipping from Seattle. The seller indicated it was purchased at Nordstrom with an original retail price of $550.99.
This size medium jacket appears to be in pristine condition and we even get to enjoy a couple photos of it being modeled. Personally, I think it would look stunning paired with skinny jeans tucked into tall black leather riding boots.

Seller with excellent taste in leather

Love the styling of this vintage Vakko black leather military-style jacket! I especially like the double-breasted styling, epaulets, and belted look.
Someone got a good deal on this nicely modeled jacket for only $34.33. Given the rarity and mint condition of this item, I'm actually surprised it didn't sell for more, especially with military-styled jackets being so trendy right now.
The same seller sold these North Beach Leather rear-zip cigarette pants (size 5/6) very nicely modeled and tucked into boots for $67.77. Never mind that they would make a great "leather suit" look paired with the above jacket!

And she sold these size 4 North Beach Leather rear-zip cigarette pants (size 4) for $56.00.

Finally, she sold this Chanel-style black leather jacket by North Beach Leather (size 5/6) for $50.00. Another great "leather suit" look paired with black leather pants!

A $50 deal on a Vakko black leather trench coat

For the starting bid of $49.79, someone got a very good deal on this size medium Vakko black leather trench coat. I'm intrigued by the velcro-closure wide black leather belt, which doesn't appear to be the original belt from the coat.

Vakko black leather motorcycle chic

Speaking of deals, this stunning Vakko black leather motorcycle jacket (size S) sold for only $14.50. Knowing original Vakko prices, I'd guess original retail on this was close to $500.
This versatile "motorcycle chic" jacket would look great paired with everything from jeans and boots to a skirt and pumps.

A $40 deal on a Vakko black leather trench coat

Even though it's sized as an Extra Small, someone got a deal on a quality Vakko vintage black leather trench coat for only $40.
This leather trench has classic styling with a belt, long notched collar, and double-breasted closure. It also appears to be in very good condition, and knowing Vakko quality, is made of buttery soft lambskin.
This trench would look stunning paired with matching leather boots and gloves and a sexy black beret.

Vakko belted black leather jacket

I try not to post too many items that don't receive any bids, but this beautiful belted black leather coat from Vakko was a stunner. With the collar turned up, it goes from biker style to biker chic. Casual enough to wear with jeans, dressy enough to pair with a wool pencil skirt and boots.
This size small jacket was listed with a starting bid of $39.99.

Nice modeling and a variety of leather
eBay seller "leather_doll" is back with some fine modeling and what appears to be a new "office" setting.
With the military look so popular this season, I cannot believe this size 10 leather jacket by Genel London only sold for $12.00. Now, I wish I would have bid on it!

However, this North Beach Leather crop jacket (size 7/8) sold for an impressive $78.77. It looks great paired with the leather skirt and spiky OTK boots.

Someone got a deal on this buttery soft Vakko forest green leather blazer (size 8) for only $21.50. Once again, a great look paired with the leather skirt and OTK boots.

This shiny patent jacket (size XL) made by Steilmann Germany sold for an impressive $81.00. I'm more of a purist when it comes to leather (I like mine real, high-quality and buttery soft) but I know the shiny PVC look is appealing to others as well.

A deal on a vintage Vakko leather dress
At $45.00, someone got a deal on this vintage Vakko black leather dress from eBay leather seller "leatherbarn." With the military style so in right now, my guess is that this "shirt style" dress could be popular. It would look great paired with some strappy sandals for fall and spiky boots in winter.
Had this dress been larger than a size 6, I would have been interested in making a bid, especially at this price.
